RAIN PROTECTION

RUBBER BOOTS
We are expecting plenty of rain and, in places, very muddy paths. We also plan to hike through streams and rivers. Therefore, we should bring our rubber boots on this trip.
I recommend fairly snug-fitting, tall boots with good tread. Ideally, the boots should be broken in a little before the trip begins.
At some locations, it is possible to rent boots, but these boots may have small cracks or holes, and rental boots never really fit perfectly.

PONCHO
If heavy rain sets in during a hike, we certainly need to protect ourselves and our equipment.
Even though we’ll likely work up quite a sweat, I can recommend wearing a rain poncho in such cases.
The poncho should be cut generously enough to easily accommodate a backpack underneath.
Conveniently, ponchos are small and lightweight, so there is always room for them in your backpack or pocket. Purchase recommendation: Opret Regenponcho Advertising

UMBRELLA
An umbrella is, of course, often useful. The most practical ones are small umbrellas that fit into a backpack or even a trouser pocket. White umbrellas, in particular, can also be helpful in photography, as they are well-suited for providing shade. BACKPACK RAIN COVER
I consider a rain cover for the backpack to be very important. If one isn't already integrated into the backpack, such a cover can be purchased separately. Example: Frelaxy Regenschutz Advertising
DRYING AGENT
We are all familiar with the small white packets often found in shoeboxes or the packaging of electronic devices. These packets contain silica gel beads that attract and absorb moisture. Although small, lightweight, and inexpensive, they are highly effective at protecting against humidity. When sealed in an airtight zip-lock bag with these silica gel packets, our equipment can effectively recover from the tropical climate overnight.
